Ferrymead 9 hole golf course and driving range

GSL have had the opportunity to be involved with the first of two new 9 hole golf courses and driving range at Ferrymead, Christchurch.

It has been exciting to see and be part of the transformation from what was once on old rubbish dump to the present multi function site including the first stage of one of two 9 hole golf courses, the very latest in driving ranges plus the mini golf course, conference centre, pro shop and restaurant.

Christchurch Golf Club

GSL are proud of the work they completed as a sub contractor on the redevelopment of the Christchurch Golf Club at Shirley.

This involved the redevelopment of a somewhat ordinary looking drain running through the golf course into a lovely water feature on a grand scale which involved a lot of excavating, reshaping, retaining walls, reinstatement of grass areas and extensive planting.

Horseshoe Lake

GSL were fortunate enough to also be involved with the continuation of the drain from the Christchurch Golf Club to Horseshoe Lake. This involved many challenges including having to build extensive retaining walls to hold up the reinstated road way and working in very wet and difficult situations.

Cave Stream Car Park and Track

GSL were nominated the preferred contractor for the redevelopment of the Cave Stream car park, tracks and viewing platforms.

This harsh environment created it’s own set of challenges as well has having to complete the work through the winter months in a year that proved to be one of the wettest and coldest in many years. This did not deter our dedicated staff from completing the task.
