General Manager
Des has spent over 35 years working in all areas of horticulture and parks and reserves management. He is well versed in all aspects of grounds and services maintenance, especially quantifying tenders, quality management, client relationships and service delivery. Des has managed his own horticultural business and has served in senior positions managing parks and reserves, horticultural and turf related contracts. He holds appropriate certificates in management, horticulture, health and safety, hazard identification and Growsafe. Des is also a partner in Grounds and Services Ltd.
Landscaping and Maintenance Audit Officer
Norm has spent 43 Years in the Nursery & Landscape arena. He is fully conversant with customer relations, staff management, project management of landscape design, installation of soft and hard landscapes, tree planning and surgery, amenity horticulture and nursery management. He has extensive knowledge of the operation and maintenance of GSL’s range of tractors, mowers and vehicles. He has gained his Trade Certificate and attended numerous Management Training courses, is a Health and Safety trainer and Site Safe Supervisor.
Operations Manager- Development - Sports Turf Maintenance and Construction
Andrew has over 12 years experience in sports turf maintenance and construction. He has gained his Certificate in Sports Turf Management Level 4, Survey and Project Management, is an NZSTITO Approved Trainer, holds STMS Level 1 ID 23254 and Site Safe Civil Passport.
Andrew is experienced in Sports Turf Consultancy and Design and has many years experience in site construction including building and shaping of golf courses, environmental landscapes and sports field redevelopments.
Operations Manager – Maintenance including Plant Pest and Mowing
Tony has had 6 years practical spraying experience on roading networks and is familiar with the Specification C21, legislative and by-law requirements and relevant Codes of Practice relating to chemical application.
He has gained the National Certificate in Agrichemical Application (Level 3), with strands in total vegetation control, brush-weed control, aquatic weed control. and broad-acre, plus Growsafe Registered Applicator (R1348, STMS Level 1 certificate (I.D 22187, Approved Handler Qualification (GT0000045, Site Safe Civil Passport ID No 304423.
Tony has also taken on the responsibility for all our mowing operations and has undertaken this new role with enthusiasm and gusto.
Operations Manager - Building and Renovations
Simon is a licenced builder and has extensive experience both within New Zealand and abroad and brings this depth of knowledge to every job he undertakes or oversees. Simon leads a number of teams undertaking a variety of building repairs, maintenance and new builds, plastering including three highly qualified fibrous plasterers, painters and wall paper hangers, brick layers and carpet & vinyl layers. With the range of skills available to Simon he is able to co-ordinate any job from start to finish and has complete control of the resources required ensuring a quality job from start to finish for the client.
